Something new

So I've been saying I need to find myself, or grow up, or something that means change from what I've been up until now. It's easier said than done, of course, we are who we are but I refuse to believe in destiny or the pre-determined. If we can't change then there's no point in going on, and I want to go on. I've seen what life can become and now I want to get it for myself.

I'm going to Italy again, that's where I feel most at peace with everything. I need it to start all over, if this is to become the year when it all happens. Venice I think, I have family there and I will contact them when I get there. A small part of me is hoping I will have to find my own way, that would be the bigger adventure.

But tonight it's all about the goodbyes. The see-you-laters. The I-will-always-love-you-and-you-will-be-in-my-heart-wherever-I-gos. You know, the little things, with Avy.

    i agree. trying to change can be difficult and time consuming. sometimes, if the change isn't working out then stick with what you know best. i hope you find the adventure and peace you're looking for.

    I'm taking a page out of your book and skipping town soon. I'm heading to France for the summer, and maybe a brief jaunt to Rome and London - I just need to get off the grid for a bit, you know? For me, I need to heal, but I think everyone needs to get away sometimes. France is where I know I can do that, to heal from my friend's death.

    Maybe we'll bump into each other?

    I can relate to this entirely. I don't believe in destiny and people say that you can change your own destiny. But if you're changing it, is that change a part of your destiny? I can't wait to get up and just go, but it isn't as easy as it looks. I would move to London tomorrow, but there's something stopping me from starting that new life yet.

    A dream is to go somewhere where you don't know anyone, and start all over.

    A new start is always difficult and intimidating and challenging. But it's good too. It makes you hopeful for the future whatever it might hold, you get to learn new things and get to grow out of your experiences. I'm in the process of a new start myself so I know exactly how you feel. You're lucky that you're able to just take off whenever you feel like Stephanie, I wish I could do that too. Right now I wish I could just take my girlfriend by the hand and embark on our own little adventure/new start. For now I'll just have to be patient. I wish you'll find what you're looking for in Venice.
