Elise is one of those people that can be
superficial and profound at the same time. It's a rare quality and one that I admire, being able to talk about fashion or beauty as if it was a matter of life and death, while at the same time knowing everything about Italian turn of the century opera (when she's bored she whistles the intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana).
I'm told her father is an artist and her mother a former runway model - it almost sounds too good to be true and I want to meet them soon. They've lived all over the world and Elise has always moved with them, until she ended up in Venice studying architecture. She asks about me and I bend the truth, I'm afraid of what she would say if she knew so I keep things simple. At least for now.
There is no need to bend the truth, finding ones way takes time. Do what you love, and there will be no need to ever bend the truth. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that bending the truth for some of us can mean simplifying rather than weaving web of truth? Family is complicated.

Don't bend the truth, true friends will love you no matter what and anyone that doesn't is just not worth the thoughts. Life is short as it is, so we have to surround ourselves with people that matter and we can be ourselves with, being in any kind of relationship that doesn't allow you to be who you are, is not good for you and just a waste of time. It took me a long time to realize that, but since I did, I'm a lot happier than I was.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

would you like her any less, if her mum was a shop assistant and her dad an accountant? so you can be open as well. that's what friends are for.

Don't bend the truth, she will like you for who you are... I only like people for who they are inside... not for where they came from.. :)

Another awesome post, I especially like the detail about Elise's choice of boredom whistles. Don't ever feel the need to hide who you are, btw. If people are going to judge you on circumstance not personality, tell them to go fuck themselves.
